You’re so right — the way we use technology messes with our neurology, I hear a ding, I jump (not literally ;-). Seriously, I make a point of not turning on notifications for most apps, including mail. Text messages are another story, but even with them, I’m often in silent mode. It’s rather amusing when I realize I’ve missed texts or phone calls because I forgot to turn off ‘do not disturb’ mode.
