It's true. Discovering musicians I did not know at a rock or jazz festival was always part of the thrill. These days, even trying to get tickets to a single show takes the joy out of wanting to go, though I do confess that Desert Trip 2016 (dubbed Coachella for Baby Boomers) was worth all the effort: Dylan. The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, The Who, Roger Waters, and Sir Paul McCartney. There is nothing in the world like a live rock show and I count myself lucky to have been at some the best over the years.
