It’s such a conundrum for writers, especially the vast majority of not-so-well-known ones. A recent article in Vox depressed me with its suggestion that agents and editors factor your social media following/branding into their review of your work. And I applaud Anne Tyler for avoiding social media. Then there’s the mysterious and brilliant Elena Ferrante.
