I love scarves and have so many of them, though I do feel the need to periodic divesting—and not just scarves. When I discover tee-shirts I forgot I had (this is not a memory issue), I take the opportunity to give away the more well-worn ones. In a Marie Kondo kind of way, I say good-bye to items of clothing and accessories I’m tired of looking at. I may not go as far as to thank them for the pleasure they’ve given me, as she suggests ;-) But there comes a time when accumulation overwhelms me. And I find it liberating to divest. A delightful essay, Sue :-)
