I know the feeling well re: wanting to like a novel that ultimately falls far short of my expectations. Sometimes my curiosity about why a book got so much buzz gets the best of me and I plough through, cringing at sloppy sentences and words that jump out at me. All the more reason that your reaction to ‘ginormously’ made me smile.
